Social Entrepreneurship

Social Entrepreneurship is a six week course offered in partnership with Sky School; and was designed to enable young people in Kakuma camp to become changemakers in their communities. During the course, students learn about their own skills and qualities and work in a team to develop and prototype projects that respond to the needs within their community. During the course, students in Kakuma develop a range of projects, including a project to use solar power and internet access in Kakuma Camp. 30 students in Kakuma camp took part in the course, studying online in their own time (for four hours per week) and in in-person sessions facilitated by URISE Initiative for Africa facilitators (six hours per week).
